2004 CERT Calendar         

   The Heber-Overgaard CERT team will conduct monthly training meetings.  They will be held on the first Thursday of each month at the Fire Station. All meetings will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

March 4                       Forest Fire Training – Jerald Whipple, Capt. Show Low Fire Dept.

(Wild Fire behavior, weather patterns, basic suppression techniques)

April 1                          Evacuation and Elderly Assistance

(Identify and compile maps of special needs residents, and businesses)

May 6                          Team organization and equipment disbursement

(All team members should be trained and all equipment ordered should be in stock.  Organize all CERT teams, duties and chain of command.)

Jun 3                            Radio Communication/Chain of command  (Learn radio use and rules. Incorporate into CERT chain of Command.)

FUTURE CALENDAR ITEMS – The following items will be used in our training meetings and will be scheduled as needed throughout the year.

1. First Aid, Triage, CPR
2. Elderly Assistance, Body Physics, Oxygen use
3. Orienteering and GPS
4. Year Supply, 72 hour kits
5. Evacuation preparedness
6. Propane Awareness and usage.
7. Heavy Snow Emergency
8. Any other related topic as deemed necessary by the Fire Dept. and community needs.

 The CERT team will also conduct additional training and drills quarterly throughout the year.  The following dates are scheduled.  However, each is subject to change based on need
