Public Education
All of us here at the Heber-Overgaard Fire Dept. believe that educating our community is the key to preventing accidents and fires from happening. We all know that not every call can be prevented, but so many of the calls we go on can. We need to learn while we are young. That is why we have been going to our Grade Schools every year and talking to the kids about things they can do to help prevent fires. We also teach them about things they can do if they are caught in a fire. Most people don't realize that fire is the number one disaster that destroys more property and causes more injuries or deaths than any other type of disaster. We have also been active at public events giving out information on improving health as well as home safety.
