The Heber-Overgaard Fire Department has reached a point where we have out grown our old home.  Our old station has served us well but due to an unfortunate Black Mold problem we need to move out.  To fix the mold problem would cost the District a very large amount of money.  Then to keep the mold from coming back would consist of replacing the roof, several walls, and part of the sub floor.  The cost would have been huge, and we would have been throwing good money after bad.  When all is said and done we still would have had an old station with little life left.  The decision to build a new station did not come lightly.  It took nearly a year of research and cost comparing before our Board reached the decision to build a new Fire Station.  A lot of thought has gone into the design of the new station to make sure this does not happen again.  There will be no wood sub floor in this station, and the building will be framed out of steel with a block stem wall.  Drains have also been added to all the bay floors.  The metal building not only cost less to construct, it will also help to prevent mold in the future.  The building is also designed to withstand high winds and a high snow loads.  It is hoped the new Fire Station will serve our community for the next 20+ years.

If you would like to stay informed of the progress the new station is making, then keep coming back to this page for updates and new pics.
